Letter 6 : Our Next Activities

Dear Tim,
  My answers...
  8. The citizens of Tempe think that they lived in a civilized society because they have indoor running water and plumbing, electrical power...everything that a civilized city could need.
  9. They would be wrong since they didn't know that for them to be truly civilized, they needed a Da Yung's.
  10. The mangoes are still missing that keep them from being completely civilized.
  11. As far as I know, "pearl tea”, “boba tea”, and “bubble tea” are different names for the same thing.

I haven't had Da Yung's drinks before, since there is no Da Yung's near my home, but I think it must be great. I have to say that the tea and juice shops in Taiwan usually make tasty drinks, and I have faith in them to bring the "tea and juice" culture to other countries. Do the people in Tempe enjoy Da Yung's drinks? Are there many people buying Da Yung's drinks? I'm quite curious.

I'm happy that you enjoy the stories of cats. Caramel does silly things everyday, and that doesn't bother me at all since it makes my daily life more interesting. As for Xien Tsau,(It means Herbal Jelly in Chinese, I think it sounds better, but I'm not sure for the spelling.) she's more silent than Caramel, but she jumps and runs better than Caramel does. Her movements are flexible and fast, but Caramel isn't. So, we suspected the dead bird last time I shared with you was killed by Xien Tsau, cause we all thought Caramel couldn't do it, ha ha!

Yes, the actors did spend a lot of time being with us, and yes, Candy was the most happy one ha ha!

Our next activity is the school fair and a little drama. We are going to prepare drinks, noodles and the body painting. This time I'm not going to do the body painting, but the drinks, because it's too tired to do the body painting. About the little drama, it's not like a regular drama, we have to read a story for the audience without acting and dressing, but voice acting. We haven't decided which story to perform, but some of us prefer to prepare a little musical. Anyway, I'm looking forward for it!

I think it's allowed to barbecue on the balcony, since we did it before. But the space of balcony is really small, so there are few people did this now. Barbecue in most of the parks are not allowed in Taiwan, I think, if you do this, there will be fine for you. By the way, my mother was cooking beef, pork and other food like king oyster mushrooms and hot dogs.

Best regards, Cathy.
