Letter 14: Our Book MV
Dear Tim,
Just like what I mentioned in my reply last week, we made a video about
a picture book. Candy and I chose a book named I Wish Daddy Didn’t Drink So Much, which was wrote by Judith
Vigna. This book is talking about a little girl named Lisa. Lisa felt sad
because her dad always drank a lot of beer, even on Christmas. Lisa’s dad
promised her that he would take her sledding, however, he only wanted to stay
at home and drink the beer, and he even got mad. Lisa and her mom were so
upset, they went to Mrs. Field’s house for dinner. Mrs. Field told Lisa that
though her dad always drink a lot, she can try be happier. After reading this
book, I have learn that sometimes we can try not to mind others when they do
something hurtful things, and try to always be positive.
Making a video is really fun. First, we took pictures as the scenes in
the book. Candy acted Lisa. We asked William and Hugo to be Lisa’s dad and mom.
I was Mrs. Field. It’s interesting that because we don’t have stage property.
So, after taking pictures, I would add some patterns on them by computer, for
example: turkey, sled, bed…. And Candy was the voice actress, all the voice of
characters was dubbed by her. At last, I put all the thing together, music,
voice, pictures… Finally, we finish this video. Let me show you our YouTube
link and pictures.
It
seems that you had a wonderful Christmas, isn’t it? I must say that I was very
disappoint at Christmas this year. The weather isn’t cold at all. And I and my
family didn’t decorate our house with Christmas tree this year. Because we
threw up the old one and haven’t buy a new one. Anyway, the atmosphere of
Christmas wasn’t like last year. Fortunately, we had decorated our classroom.
That was better, I can still feel a little atmosphere of Christmas in our
classroom. :(
As
for Christmas presents, my parents didn’t give me this year. But, a lady I met
in church had given me one. It was a necklace with two crosses. It was so
beautiful. I liked it very much. Well, at least I have one present this year.
New
Year is around the corner. Wish you a happy new year!
Best regards, Cathy
