Letter 9 : Sport Competition & School Fair

Dear Tim,

  Answers:
  1. "Trick or treating" usually starts at 6:30, and ends finishes at 8:30. There were about 150-200 "trick or treaters" came to Mr. Maher's house during that time.
  2. Mr. Maher's dogs were jumping on the couch to look out the windows, running through the house, charging the front door and barking on Halloween night. The other dogs in the neighborhood were barking at the same time, too.
  3. The costumes you would probably only find in Arizona is the cactus costumes.

I'm glad that you finally left a comment! It has been a long time I didn't read your comments, hasn't it? It's okay. Please remember the beautiful sky is just the background of my blog and keep follow my letters every week, ha ha!  I'll keep upload letters!

I think it must be really noisy on Halloween night. If I was you with the dogs, I wouldn't be able to stand for the barking part. Also, the cacti were very cute and creative, I like them!

Yeah, you're right. Caramel is active and Xien Tsau (I'll call her like this from now on.) is sneaky. And my mom and my brother like Xien Tsau more, but I like Caramel more since I first saw her. I don't know why. I can understand that you said naming a person in food is weird for you guys. Well, I always give a cat a"food name", and what kind of name they will get depends on their fur color. And I think it's really interesting!

We really had a good time on Halloween. The reason why we dressed like teletubbies was actually because most of the costumes were rent out to others. We couldn't find our ideal costumes, then we saw the teletubby costumes, and at the end we decided to wear like this. That was how it happens. Yes, it was very warm, but too big for Candy to wear. We wore them all day, many people wanted to take photos with us. And I agree, Hugo was a frog.

Thanks for the congratulations. I was so happy that we got the third place, Hugo and Doris did a great job! And sure, I'll tell Patrick.

On Wednesday, there was a sport competition of our school. Angela attended the race, and William attended the long jump. They both did a great job that they entered the finals. And the finals is going to be held tomorrow. I hope they both can do the best during the competition!

This Saturday is the school fair! We are busy preparing for all the things we need. I hope we can earn lots of money at the end! Wait for my letters!

We were drawing some posters for the school fair. Angela was painting our shop sign.

Best regards, Cathy.

  1. Dear Cathy,
I've been hearing a lot about the sports competition and the school fair. I understand the you are a small class, but there were only five to run in the relay race? I keep hearing stories that most of class 220 spent the day lounging on the grass, with blankets (tarps?) to keep the bugs away, and umbrellas to protect your delicate complexions. I think that if you visited Arizona in the summer that you would melt.
Did everyone have fun at the school fair? I understand that the noodles sold out early, that the corn soup lasted just long enough, but that it was not a good day for the sodas.
Look up "raccoons" on the internet. I don't think that yo have them in Taiwan. Who, at the face painting, reminds you of a raccoon?

    Tim
