Letter 4 : TAS's Show & The Hunters
Dear Tim,
My answers...
3. Chloe can go in and out of the house by using the cat door in the window or the doggie door in the bedroom, and also just sitting out in the hallway outside the door, howling until somebody comes along to open the door.
4. Chloe might be putting on a little extra weight because she eats out everybody else's dish.
Last Thursday, we went to Taipei American School to watch their play!! This year, they performed the modern vision of "Twelfth Night", which was written by Shakespeare. It was wonderful!!! Everything was so awesome!!! The decorations of the stage, the clothes and dancing, I really had a good time at Taipei American School!
They changed Twelfth Night into a 80's drama. The costumes of the actors were all 80's style, and they also danced with 80's songs. Of course, the actors were the best, they acted so vividly. The drama was really interesting, funny and special! I enjoyed it a lot. But the drama this year was pretty short, I really wanted to watch more!!
Twelfth Night is a story about love triangle. Viola and Sebastian were twins, they were separated after the shipwreck. After the disaster, Viola tried to get a job, she disguised as Cesario(a boy), so she could work for Orsino, who fell in love with Olivia. Orsino often had Cesario send love messages to Olivia. Gradually, Olivia fell in love with Cesario, and Viola fell in love with Orsino. (This is so complicated.) And then, miraculously, Sebastian was alive. A nice person called Antonio had helped Sebastian and fell in love with him. So, after many things, accidents, and blah blah blah, Viola and Sebastian finally found each other and all the misunderstandings were solved, the couples got married, everyone got to live happily ever after. This is Twelfth Night, a confusing story.

The decorations of stage. I love it! They really good at making these. I wish I can did it.
By the way, I love Chloe so much, she's so cute! And she's really the queen in your house. I was wondering whether the cats and dogs often fight with each other. But it seems that Chloe doesn't care about that. And the way she uses to get out of the house, our cats do it all the time because we don't have cat doors, so, they howl to let us open the door.(It's pretty noisy when we are working to do or taking a break.) Caramel howls the most, why? When she want to eat, play, get some attentions, get out of the house....and sometimes I really don't know what she wants....
The prey of Chloe reminds me that our cats caught a little bird this summer vacation.(I didn't know where they caught it.) They hid it under the sofa cushions. It was terrible. If I wasn't looking for the remote control of television, the body of the bird might not be discovered until we noticed the smell of the dead body.......gross!! The little bird was so poor! Cats are really hunters!!! Hope they won't do it again!(It's impossible.)
The poor bird...RIP.....
Best regards, Cathy.
Dear Cathy,
ReplyDeleteAren't cats fun? They can be very entertaining without even trying. We have found dead birds and lizards in the bed, in the bathtub, and all over the floors. I've learned, unless I see direct evidence, to always blame the cats. They're much better hunters than the dogs! I'm sure that you're cats caught the bird on the balcony, and later brought it inside.
I've been hearing about the play, and everyone seemed to like it. Did you get to speak to many of the TAS students? Did they compliment you on your English?
"Twelfth Night" started a long tradition of "confused identity" lays that were very popular in European theater through the 18th century. If you study literature or theater, you'll see the idea again and again. Because they were all supposed to be funny, all of the confusion is resolved by the end.
Did you have any proble,m understanding the language?
Tim
