Letter 19: The Singing Contest & Alice's Website & 228 Incident
Dear Tim,
I just saw the comment you left at my blog last week. I'm sorry that I didn't see that and reply to you then, because... you know, I was enjoying the four days off in a row. So, I will tell you in this letter.
First, yes, all of us will sing together in this singing contest. It will be held in April.(If my memory isn't wrong.) We will sing a Japanese song named 群青 Azure. This song was made for commemorating the nuclear disaster which happened in Fukushima in 1945, it's a meaningful song. And I think we can make the recording and send to you, but you might need to wait for us finishing learning the whole song. It's a little hard but I think we can do it!
I have already visited Alice's website, it's really an interesting website which is full of desserts. I love desserts very much, so this website is quite suitable for me. There's even recipes of desserts. I think I will visit there frequently in the future!
About 228 incident, I must say that this incident was still covered up by our government, there's few data about 228 incident in our history textbook. It only said the reason why it began and what happened on February 28, 1945. I don't even know our government had killed so many people on March 8 then until last week. This is too cruel! But, our government chose to hid this incident, tried to let people forget about it. This is wrong, we have rights to know our country. As for us, I think we should know our country more, to make Taiwan better. Don't let this kind of tragedy happen again.

ReplyDeleteI was a little nervous about writing an article about Taiwan history for Taiwan students, but, so far, the response have been very positive. There must be a lot about Taiwan history that they don't teach in your history classes.
Don't all of Alice's desserts look delicious? As I said, it probably costs about 100 calories just to look at the pictures!
