Letter 16: My Chinese New Year
Dear Tim,
It has been a long time I haven't read your letter and respond you. How's you going? I had a great winter vacation.
During the Chinese New Year, I and my family had cleaned our house, everywhere in the house must be clean. It was very tired, but after finishing all the housework, you'll feel very good while you were looking at the whole house which was as clean as new. Then, we would put some snacks on the table in the living room, like peanuts, candies, dried watermelon seeds, dried broad beans and oranges. Before Chinese new year, mom always took me to market to buy those snacks, there always be a lot of people come to the market to buy things at this time of the year, the market was very crowded.
In the Chinese new year's eve, we got together, and had a wonderful dinner, my mom had prepared many delicious dish, everyone's stomach was full. We were chatting and laughing, we really had a great time.
In the following days, a lot of our friends came to our home to visit us, we had meal together, chatted in the living room.
Also, I had gone back to my grandparents' home, many relatives had come back either. We also had a big lunch at there, everybody was happy, too. And the most important thing, I had gotten some red envelopes.
I like Chinese new year pretty much, many friends would visit us during this time, so our home would be full of joy, which made me very happy.
All in all, we all had a wonderful Chinese new year.
By the way, about my winter vacation, maybe I will share with you next time, it's a long story, too. And I'm sorry that there's no photos this time, I didn't take many photo. If I find out something that can share with you, I will post them next time.
